Share your dream

The survey has closed – scroll down for summary of outcomes

Springtime greetings!

We’re sharing a survey and asking readers to fill in it.

It’s for people wanting to live more in tune with the planet. In particular, for those interested in land-based living and intentional communities.

Hopefully the results will help shape ideas, including for new intentional communities. And you can see how your own dreams compare with the (aggregated) answers of others.

There are 6 multiple choice questions, then you can see the results tally. It only takes a couple of minutes and no personal information is required.

If you’re up for this, the link to the survey is below. Thank you in advance for taking part. Your participation is much appreciated.

The link will take you to the survey platform: Allcounted.com

Survey runs until 31st December 2025.

2. Whereabouts? South West England came out top, by some margin. Midlands second.

3. Which location? “Rural – village or countryside” came top, with “Near to the woods or hills” second, and “Good walking or cycling routes nearby” third.

4. What type of housing? “Natural home (timber, straw, cob, etc)” came top, followed by “Earthship or earth-sheltered home”, then “Self-build home”.

5. What type of community? These last two questions were for those interested in intentional communities. “Ecovillage” came top, then “Low impact community”.

6. What shared spaces or facilities? Joint top were “Allotments or community garden” and “River, stream or lake”, followed in joint second by “Health and wellbeing e.g. yoga studio, natural swim pool” and “Woodland”.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the survey!
