Today is the day of the UK premiere of Six Inches of Soil (documentary feature film) at the Oxford Real Farming Conference.
The film is described as: “The inspiring story of British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food – to heal the soil, benefit our health and provide for local communities”.
The film throws a timely focus on our soils. In the words of George Monbiot, environmental writer and activist: “Beneath our feet is an ecosystem so astonishing that it tests the limits of our imagination. It’s as diverse as a rainforest or a coral reef. We depend on it for 99% of our food, yet we scarcely know it. Soil.” (source: The Guardian)
